If you use a WordPress blog, have you ever thought about how much time you put in to making everything look just right? Setting the discussion settings, changing the permalinks, setting up all the SEO plugins, creating the content, the categories, the navigation, finding that perfect theme – all the little seconds and minutes you spend making it all just right really adds up. All the time you spend setting up that theme, the plugins, the files, the tweaks to the individual files – that might be hours if not weeks of trial and error until you get it exactly right.

Many people are used to document their steps, make a manual, figure out What are the 50 steps I take to making a blog looking perfect? But now you don’t have to do that. Simply setup your blog the way you want it, back it up and restore it somewhere else and now you’ve exactly copied what your blog setup has.

I used to setup a new membership site at least once per month and I want them to all look the same because I didn’t want to spend every waking hour having the drastically new design for every new membership site when I had a fully functioning, perfectly workable setup. I use certain plugins like Subscribe to Comments. I use certain themes like Coraline and I didn’t want to mess with anything new.

What I used to do was simply setup WordPress in a new location with nothing on it. I would download all the files in WordPress and then upload them somewhere else. This gave me half of what I needed, this gave me the plugins, this gave me the themes but I don’t have to go in and activate the theme, activate the plugins and I would have none of my settings. I don’t have to redo all the widget sidebars, I don’t have to redo the menus, redo the individual changes in each plugins. Downloading WordPress files and uploading WordPress files does not give you exactly what you want.

The secret is also copying the WordPress database. If you know what you’re doing, you can download the WordPress database and put it up somewhere else but it’ll be pointing back to the old site which is no good either. That’s why you need to have a WordPress Backup plugin that is specifically designed for cloning, which means that you can back it up on site number 1 and restore it on site number 2 and it will include the themes, the plugins, the settings and it will all be pointing to the new site.

Setting up your WordPress blog and trying to duplicate your exact step by step method from before takes too long. Just moving the files over is not enough, you need to use a WordPress Backup plugin so that you only spend a few seconds copying your site, not minutes, not hours, and not weeks.

If you are anything like me you are desperately seeking the Earn Easy Money Online holy grail.  For me it’s finding a blueprint that leads you by the hand, shows you step by step what to do to get on the Internet Marketing (IM) merry go round.  I invested in a Sony Reader Pocket Edition PRS-350 – eBook reader – 5″ monochrome E Ink ( 800 x 600 ) – silver and it now goes with me everywhere.

The reader means that I can review pdfs I upload to it at my convenience.  I don’t have to be at my laptop to catch up on my reading.  It’s supposed to be an efficiency tool but it must be used with care.  I find that it is almost essential to have a small notepad with you to keep a record of ideas, links and action steps that are worthy of note.  Otherwise the E-reader provides an efficient library but the good stuff ends up being lost in there somewhere.

I fill my reader with the free reports we get offered all the time via email optins and items I purchase via the WSOs on the Warrior Forum.

The risk is that you always have something else to read.  There comes a point where you have to STOP and TAKE ACTION.

Another thing that pushes me to read the next document is an underlying fear of failure.  It’s weird but I would rather keep reading, hoping that the next report will give me the game plan to success, than take some action down the road to actually figuring out what the game plan is.  Not sure where this comes from.  It’s either from a relic of parental pressure when we were growing up or just some internal anal desire to be right all the time, but this is another big barrier to overcome.  The bottom line is that unless you get the ACTION ball rolling it will stay still.  By the way, once it’s rolling it’s easier to keep it going.

The best way to become successful is to just GIVE IT A GO.

That way it will either work (yippee) or it won’t.  If it doesn’t work you just found another way not to do it.  Try something different.  As they say about the lottery, you have to be in it to win it.  Now the best way to trip over the approach that does work is to get through the ones that don’t as quickly as possible.  So FAIL FAST and FIND FORTUNE.  OK a bit cheesy but you get what I mean.  The quicker you get through the ways that don’t work the quicker you will find one that does.

Another tool I have found that helps me get things done is The Action Enforcer.  This is a product from Dennis Becker the original $5 a day guy.  He is one of the few Internet Marketers I follow.  Most of them repeat the same old stuff and it’s a pointless waste of time to try and find diamonds is a sea of sh*t.  But, thats a whole other subject.  The Action Enforcer is a clever to do list app with stopwatch timers built in.  It lets you set to do items for the day and pre-allocate the amount of time you wish to spend on each.  You then FOCUS on each and with the aid of the timers keep focus and stop when your chosen time allocation is up.

There is an online version of Action Enforcer. This is FREE to use.  Or you can purchase the desktop version of Action Enforcer (note this is an affiliate link)

1) Stop Reading and Start Doing

2) Fail Fast and Find Fortune
