Free Traffic – Dean Holland Quick Start Challenge Week 2

Week 2 of Dean’s programme continued in the same manner as Week 1.  No nonsense and straight to the point.

Dean covered 2 methods to get free traffic to your blog.  He is not an expert at paid traffic and therefore does not teach it.  Dean’s honest approach is one of his most endearing features.

Free Traffic Method 1) Forum Signatures – Create and forum signature with a link back to your blog.

Be sure to include the ‘http://’ at the beginning of the link to ensure that it’s clickable.

Be creative with the text to encourage the click.  You can link back to to your home page or to a squeeze page if you want to build a list.  This has a double effect; adds to your SEO to improves your search ranking and provides a link for the reader to go and look at your site.

Be sure to post meaningful comments otherwise you may have your account banned and the reader will choose not to visit your site.

Free Traffic Method 2) Blog Commenting – Leave meaningful comments on blogs which all comments and therefore backlinks to your blog.

The big trick to is finding appropriate blogs to comment on in the niche as your own.  This way the backlinks will be relevant and meaningful and you will have a chance of leaving a knowledgeable comment.

To do this you will need to use some specific search terms to pickup the blog footprints. So if your blog main keyword is “low fat diet” you would do a search for “low fat diet” “powered by wordpress”
