{"id":1021,"date":"2012-07-04T23:04:09","date_gmt":"2012-07-04T21:04:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/247income.co.uk\/blog\/?p=1021"},"modified":"2012-07-04T13:50:39","modified_gmt":"2012-07-04T12:50:39","slug":"shoemoney-internet-marketing-blog-facebook-advertising-gives-the-ftc-the-finger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/247income.co.uk\/blog\/shoemoney-internet-marketing-blog-facebook-advertising-gives-the-ftc-the-finger\/","title":{"rendered":"ShoeMoney Internet Marketing Blog: Facebook Advertising Gives The FTC The Finger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently I have noticed a lot of \u00a0\u201dmake money online\u201d offers advertising on Facebook are using some wording that is pretty aggressive.<\/p>\n<p>I remember a couple years when I couldn\u2019t even advertise my ShoeMoneyX.com program with the words \u201cGet a free 12 week training course on Internet Marketing\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>When I reached out to our reps and they told me, \u201cSorry man it doesn\u2019t matter who you are we have a zero tolerance policy on ANYTHING that even smells of a make money online offer\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>That was lame, and frustrating\u2026 Especially since I worked with them back in the day when they were building out their platform. Not to mention the 5 panels I have been on at conferences helping get the word out about the platform.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Back to present day.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Now you see all these ads completely going against FTC guidelines. Specifically the income claims:<\/p>\n<p>Just for shits I reached out to some of the same people who said my ads were overly aggressive. They said none of there ads no longer being approved in house so you can pretty much get away with anything for a bit until someone notices it and reports it.<\/p>\n<p>Looks like Facebook is taking another page out of Google\u2019s playbook\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>But at what point can the FTC choose to ignore this?<\/p>\n<p>Will it come to the point where the <a
href=\"http:\/\/www.shoemoney.com\/2009\/03\/05\/ftc-comes-hard-after-obama-stimulas-grant-offers\">FTC (and the white house) cracked down on Facebook\/Google\/Yahoo about ads regarding grants<\/a> and stuff?<\/p>\n<p>Now that they are public obviously all bets are off getting a good return for their stockholders.<\/p>\n<p><img
